#Cycle4Change aims to raise money for not one, not two but three fantastic charities. Find out more about the causes that we’re supporting and find out how you can help. We would like to say a huge thank you to our main sponsors, who have donated generously to #Cycle4Change. Our sponsors include The Retail Data Partnership Ltd, Blackhawk, EE and Ayapa.

Trussell Trust

Payzone, together with the Post Office, has partnered with the Trussell Trust. They run over 1200 UK food banks and the demand for their services has increased significantly since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Trussell Trust provides emergency food parcels to people and families who are unable to pay for basics like food and essential household items, often due to a crisis like losing a job or a sudden illness.

Here at Payzone, our staff and retailers have rallied round to offer support to the Trussell Trust. Many of our retailers have set up their very own food collection points, encouraging customers to donate what they can.

Our colleagues have been visiting their local Payzone stores that are taking part to donate. They have also been dropping off the collected food at their local Trussell Trust depot in person.

As part of our #Cycle4Change fundraiser, the team will be visiting some of the Payzone retailers and postmasters who are hosting a food collection point in their stores and branches. The aim is to raise awareness of the work that Trussell Trust is doing and to encourage customers to give what they can. Of course, we will also be dropping off food donations to the local Trussell Trust depots along the way!

SANDS

Each year, our Payzone employees choose a charity they wish to support. This year, we chose to fundraise for SANDS, a local charity that aims to break the silence around stillbirth and neonatal death, so nobody has to grieve alone.

“SANDS has supported several colleagues at Payzone and therefore when the opportunity arose to nominate a deserving charity, Payzone could not think of a more deserving charity that they wanted to support in 2020.” Commented Beverley Madeley, HR Business Partner and Head of the Social Squad at Payzone.

The Payzone Social Squad will be raising money for SANDS on day one of #Cycle4Change in Manchester. Each member of the squad has worked hard to secure as many sponsors as possible to raise money for this great cause.

If you want to sponsor our Payzone Social Squad, you can do so through their Just Giving page.

MAG

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) aims to save lives and rebuild futures by removing and destroying landmines and unexploded bombs from communities affected by war and violence around the world. Because of their work, people can not only live safely, they can farm safe land, build new houses and schools and children can walk without fear.

It is a charity that is close to our Managing Director, Andrew Goddard’s heart, having completed multiple gruelling cycle challenges across Vietnam, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka, having helped raise valuable funds for MAG. In fact, along with fellow colleagues across the U.K. convenience industry, an incredible £600,000 has been raised over five rides.

Unfortunately, due to business commitments, Andrew and Simon were unable to cycle 500kms in Cambodia earlier this year - but that won’t stop them. Andrew and Simon decided to set themselves a cycling challenge to raise money for the cause, right here in the UK, and that is where #Cycle4Change was born!
