How do I pay my E.ON Next bill?

Pay at a Payzone store or Post Office branch 

You can pay your E.ON Next energy bill by taking your barcoded bill to a Payzone or Post Office store, where you can use it to pay with cash, debit or credit card, or cheque.

If you have a prepayment meter and you need to top up your gas card or electricity key, you can also do this at a Payzone or Post Office store.

Pay by Direct Debit

You can pay your E.ON Next energy bill by Direct Debit, which you can set up via your online account. You pay a fixed amount each month, based on your estimated usage, to help spread the cost of your energy across the year. Choose a date that works for you, and your payment will leave your account at the same point each month.  

Make an online payment

You can also pay your E.ON Next energy bill online via the E.ON Next app or your E.ON Next online account

To pay your bill via the app, download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and follow the account setup instructions. Once installed, you can make instant payments, check your latest bill and track your energy usage. 

To pay your bill via the E.ON Next website, sign in to your account. The secure, web-based payment service will take your online payment. 

Pay via internet banking

To pay your bill via your internet banking app, make a bank transfer to E.ON Next using sort code 608009 and account number 70257647, and quote your E.ON Next customer account number as a reference so they can link the payment to your account. 

Make a postal payment

To pay your E.ON Next energy bill by post, write a cheque payable to E.ON Next, then send to:

Prepayment meters

How do I get a new E.ON Next prepayment key or card?

If your E.ON Next gas card seems to be faulty, simply cleaning the gold chip on the card could sort the issue. If your electricity key isn’t working, a clean could also fix the issue. 

If that doesn’t work, get in touch with E.ON Next to get a replacement. You should also get in touch with them in you’ve lost your gas card or electricity key, or if they’ve been stolen.

You can either arrange to collect your new card or key from your nearest Payzone store or Post Office branch, or E.ON Next can post it out to you.

Once you receive your new gas card or electricity key, you’ll need to put it in your meter for one minute to activate it.

If you had credit on your electricity key or gas card, don’t worry. Top-up transactions are recorded on your account, so you can contact E.ON Next to get credit refund. Please note, you may need to have your receipt as proof of purchase to do this.

How do I top up my E.ON Next gas or electricity meter?

There are three different ways you can top up your E.ON Next electricity meter: over the counter, online or in the app.

At a Payzone Store, PayPoint or Post Office branch

You can top up your pay-as-you-go gas or electricity meter at any Payzone store, PayPoint store or Post Office branch. To top up, simply hand your card or key to the shop attendant and pay for the required amount. You can top up from as little as £1, in amounts rounded up or down to the nearest pound. Once you have topped up your gas card or electricity key, put it into your meter and hold the ‘A’ button to transfer the credit from your card to your meter. 

Online and in-app

To top up your E.ON Next gas or electricity meter online, log in to your E.ON Next online account and select the ‘top up’ option on your dashboard. If you’re a Smart Pay As You Go customer, you can also top up your meter via the E.ON Next app, which can be downloaded through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. 

How do I top up my E.ON Next meter without a card?

If you have a smart meter, you can either top up online or in-app. From there, you can also access a personal barcode, which you can print or save to your phone, and use to top up at a Payzone store, PayPoint or Post Office branch.
 
Why is my E.ON Next gas top-up card or electricity key not working?

If your E.ON Next top-up card or key is not working, there could be a problem with either your meter or the card or key itself. First, try cleaning the card or key to see if that helps. If it’s still not working, check your meter for error messages. Information about error messages can be found on this page. If there are no error messages, you may need to replace your E.ON Next card or key with a new one.

How much emergency credit is available on my E.ON Next smart meter?

Your E.ON Next prepayment meter has £10 emergency credit, which becomes available when you have less than £2 left. You E.ON Next electricity meter has £5 emergency credit available when you’ve got less than 50p left. 

E.ON Next are currently updating emergency credit for electricity from £5 to £10, starting with the most vulnerable customers first. They will contact you with more details about what’s going to happen and when the change will be made. 

How do I put emergency credit on my E.ON Next meter?

If you want to use the emergency credit on your gas meter and you’ve got less than £2 left, put your card in the meter then press the red button ‘A’.

If you want to use your emergency credit for electricity and you’ve got less than 50p left, put your key in the meter and press the blue button. Your meter may make a noise when your emergency credit is available to use.

Remember, you’ll need to pay back your emergency credit the next time you top up.

What is the minimum amount you can put on a E.ON Next gas card or electricity key?

The minimum amount you can put on a E.ON Next gas card or electricity key is £1, in amounts rounded up or down to the nearest pound. The maximum amount you can top up your E.ON Next gas card or electricity key is £80. An E.ON Next Smart Pay As You Go meter can hold a maximum of £500 credit at one time.

Who qualifies for the E.ON Next Warm Home Discount?

There are two ways you can qualify for the Warm Home Discount scheme. 

If you are a pensioner who receives the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit you should be eligible for the Warm Home Discount. 

You may also be eligible if you are on income-related Employment and Support Allowance, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support, Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, Child Tax Credits and Working Tax Credits, or Pension Credit Savings Credit.
