Job Title:                                             Business Development Manager

Post Reports to:                                  Senior Business Development Manager

Number of Direct Reports:                  0

Location:                                             Field Based

Pension:                                              Up to 8% Employees contribution & Up to 12% Employers contribution (subject to auto enrolment)

Holidays:                                             25 days increasing to 30 after length of service and the option to purchase extra holidays

Life Assurance:                                   6 x’s your basic annual salary to the employee’s normal retirement age.

The Purpose of the Role:

 

The post holder will be responsible for the account management of a defined territory.

 

 

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Deliver Network plan - Estate size & Network improvement

  • To manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation and lead management to prospecting, arranging appointments & negotiating and closing deals (benefit/value sales approach)

2. Identify key accounts for development & produce individual account plans

  • Symbols and larger independents/groups]

3. To achieve agreed targets against these accounts (see below)

  • sales revenue/transactions
  • customer service targets – overall satisfaction & response rates
  • Compliance/conformance (effective training)

4. Build effective internal relationships

  • Outbound call team
  • Helpdesk
  • Asset & Estate Team
  • Commercial Team
  • Post Office Field Team
  • PLS

Previous Experience:

 

  • FMCG sales/account management
  • Understanding of convenience market
  • Experience working in a team and as an individual
  • Confident working with key performance indicators with an impressive track record in sales
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated, competitive with a passion for sales
  • Strong customer sales skills which must include cold calling & f2f sales (telesales an advantage)
  • Experience of working to targets and KPI’s
  • Strong administration and organisation skills
  • Full Driving Licence
