Payzone, the leading European consumer payments and cash distribution network, has signed a two year contract with Waitrose, the supermarket chain owned by John Lewis Partnership, to provide mobile top up services.

Payzone has rolled out its Waitrose agreement so that customers can top up their mobile at every check out in over 200 stores across the country. Top ups are available as printed e-vouchers or via electronic swipe cards. Denominations range from £5 - £50 depending on the Mobile Operator, and the integrated EPOS system ensures that all transactions are processed quickly.

The contract boosts Payzone’s position as a market leader of cash acceptance networks and demonstrates Payzone’s flexibility to service all types of retail businesses, from well-known multi-lanes to local shops.”

A spokesman at Waitrose said: “We are always looking at ways we can improve the service we offer our customers and making mobile top up available at all our checkouts is another way to achieve that.
