Regional Sales Managers – General Retail

In order to further strengthen our Field Sales Teams we are looking to recruit experienced Regional Sales Managers who excel at delivering sales through service and people development.

You will manage a team of 9 Field Sales Executives to deliver profitable new business within the card acceptance marketplace.

Payzone is the only current UK card acceptance provider offering small to medium businesses the opportunity to transact using ‘contactless’, broadband enabled, technology at low rental prices that are capped for the duration of the contract.

You will work individually, and as part of a team, to drive exceptional growth in 2011. Responsible for recruiting profitable new business, across your region, you will report directly to the Head of Sales for Card Acceptance.

Role Objective…
Creation and delivery of both strategic and tactical plans to ensure the effective management of the day to day activities of a regional general retail field sales team.  Delivery against UK company objectives, targets and budgets. 

Key Objectives…

  • Monitor and control the recruitment and discipline of the field sales team
  • To manage the time and delivery of the field sales team activities
  • Create a mind-set based on retention of existing estate and acquisition of  high transacting merchants
  • Identify gaps in knowledge and abilities within sales team. Develop and implement suitable training programs.

Personal Specification…

  • Proven sales experience of managing a team of direct sales field  executives, ideally selling into retail businesses
  • Self-motivated, with a proven track record of controlling and monitoring of remote sales teams.
  • Results driven, team orientated
  • Good working knowledge of Outlook and Excel (a substantial part of the role will be the planning and analysis of the business using excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capable of challenging other people and departments to deliver whilst maintaining good working relationships and cooperation.
  • Good time management, administration, planning and organisational skills, with the capability to pass this on to others
  • Hands on sales team manager used to a disciplined environment ideally working with symbol groups and independent retailers.
  • Good understanding of field sales disciplines, having undergone a full structured FMCG training plan including strong working knowledge of merchandising and selling techniques.
  • Acceptable CRB and credit rating to meet FSA regulatory requirements.

  • Basic salary of up to £45,000
